East Elliott is a filmmaker from North London based in New York City. His work explores class, race, violence and dysfunctional romantic and family dynamics through a unique, unconventional and often comedic language.

His short film, From Sidney, With Love, was selected by Spike Lee for his thesis production fund, who also came aboard the project as Executive Producer. As part of A24’s Creative Capture Program, East was invited to shadow Spike on the set of Highest 2 Lowest, documenting the experience in a forthcoming short documentary to be released by A24.

His last project, TERMINAL premiered at the 2024 Festival de Cannes as part of the La Cinéfondation Official Selection and was also awarded the Screenwriting and Ensemble Cast awards at the 2025 NYU First Run Film Festival. He is the 2022 recipient of both the BAFTA/Pigott Scholarship and the Hollywood Foreign Press Scholarship, awarded in support of his MFA at NYU’s Tisch Graduate Film Program, from which he graduated in May, 2025.
